Digitizing Aruba's National History

The Internet Archive undertook a significant project to preserve Aruba's national history by digitizing over 100,000 items, including documents, images, and objects, from various cultural institutions. This initiative, led by digital archivist Stacey Argondizo, aimed to safeguard Aruba's rich heritage that reflected its colonial past and diverse historical artifacts. Despite limited funding and decentralized archives, the project utilized both local scanning equipment and the Internet Archive's software to organize and convert physical documents into searchable digital files.
