Is War Imminent? Biden and Putin Go Head-to-Head | 2/21/23

In a speech earlier today, just days before the one-year anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia would be pulling out of the New START nuclear arms treaty it had with the United States, in which both countries had previously agreed to limit and reduce their nuclear arsenals and allow inspection of each other’s nuclear sites. On the other side, in Poland, President Joe Biden spoke to the Polish people and the rest of the world, challenging Putin to "end the war." Biden delivered that warning from Warsaw, Poland, nearly a year after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and a day after making a surprise visit to Ukraine. Embattled Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said Tuesday he will travel to Ohio “when the time is right” to review the devastating effects of this month’s toxic train derailment amid withering criticism that the Biden administration has been too slow to deal with the catastrophe. More than two dozen organizations are urging the Biden administration to "abandon plans" to allow biological males to compete in women's sports and use the same locker rooms as biological women. A report by a group campaigning for science-based teaching in schools has revealed that there are now at least 60 picture books that teach children it is possible to be a member of the opposite sex — 45 of which are marketed toward children under 5 years old.
