Derek Blighe is the founder and President of Ireland First, a centre-right party that was launched to give a voice to Irish citizens who are concerned by their country's open-door immigration policy. Derek stood in Friday's EU election in the Ireland South constituency. He hasn't been elected but he won a whopping 25,000 first preference votes, rising to nearly 40,000 with transfers. Derek came on to discuss the implications of his success.
