Ep 36 — THIS is Why Diversity is Important in Science Fiction — RM Olson
RM Olson has a passion for diverse characters in science fiction. Over the last 4 years, they’ve written an astonishing 18 books.
In this interview, we talk about how RM left a full-time lawyer job to pursue their dream of writing full time, in addition to being a single parent. We discuss their writing journey and why diversity in sci-fi is so important.
Olson’s sci-fi is fun, but also meaningful in its impact, and the characters they portray.
We chat about their full body of work, but focus primarily on their Devil to Pay series — a space pirate adventure that’s part Pirates of the Caribbean and part Firefly.
We had a lot of fun in this interview. I cannot express how much I enjoyed our conversation.
I hope you will too.
