The guest on this week's episode of 'Beyond Survival: the new teacher podcast'  is  Andrew Taylor.  Andrew worked in schools for 16 years as a class teacher and senior leader. He  now works for the University of Worcester, supporting trainee teachers and helping to improve the provision for ECTs.  You can follow Andrew’s popular ECT Twitter account @MrTs_NQTs for advice, support and daily tips for new teachers. His excellent new book is called 'You Got This: Thriving as an Early Career Teacher with Mr T'.

In today's episode we answer the question: how can new teachers best prepare for interviews. In answering that central questions we also look at:

1. How can new teachers work out what school is right for them to apply to?
2. What advice might you give about writing a personal statement for a new role?
3. If a new teacher has been asked to teach a part of a lesson for their interview, how should they approach it?
4. How should new teachers best prepare for an interview, and what are your top tips for succeeding in a teaching interview?
5. Any final advice for teachers at the start of their career?
