Beyond the Surface: Emphathy, Identity , and Storyteller, with Teresa Xu
On today’s episode, The RV is meeting with Teresa Xu (zu). Teresa is a third-year undergraduate student at Vanderbilt University who has just published her e-book The Beginning to The End: Storytelling and Identity. Nashville.
Teresa Xu is an essayist whose works have been showcased in multiple publications and symposiums. Since 2020, she has been the president of Narrative 4 Vanderbilt, a student-organized chapter of a global nonprofit that facilitates story exchange events and promotes empathy.
Teresa firmly believes that storytelling is key to understanding the complexity of our identities, amplifying underrepresented voices, and becoming the compassionate society she knows we can be.
When she’s not organizing story exchanges or dancing in cultural showcases, she’s riding bikes with her family, exploring walkways and restaurants with her friends, or listening to music with her pet turtle, Swimmer.
