The collection is valued for its rigorous verification process, where Imam Muslim categorized narrators based on their memory and character. It is one of the 'Sahihain' or the 'Two Sahihs,' along with Sahih al-Bukhari, and is a fundamental source for Islamic teachings after the Quran.

Sahih al-Bukhari is a comprehensive collection of hadiths compiled by Imam Muhammad al-Bukhari over a period of 16 years. It contains over 7,500 hadiths (with repetitions) and around 2,600 unique hadiths, organized into 97 books. The collection is highly valued for its stringent criteria for authenticity, including the requirement for a complete and unbroken chain of narrators (isnad) and the verification of each hadith against the Quran. It covers various aspects of Muslim life, including Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), prayers, and other actions of worship. The work is widely regarded as the most authentic collection of hadiths after the Quran.
