Deep dives
The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro specifications
have been leaked ahead of Google's upcoming hardware event. The devices will feature Google's Tensor G3 chip, offering advanced performance. The Pixel 8 will have a 6.2-inch display, 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage, while the Pixel 8 Pro will have a larger 6.7-inch display, up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. Both devices will include a 44 all-day battery and support fast charging. Additionally, the Pixel 8 series will come with 7 years of OS and security updates, showcasing Google's commitment to long-term device support. The cameras will also receive significant upgrades, including DSLR-like controls, advanced video and photo features, Real Tone technology, and Night Sight for video. The devices will be unveiled at Google's upcoming hardware event.
The Pixel Tablet as a Smart Display
The Google Nest Hub has limitations including language support, slow response time, and complex navigation for tasks. The Pixel Tablet could address these issues by providing language support, faster responsiveness, and a more intuitive interface for home control and routines.
Google's Lack of Repair Program for Pixel Watches
Google does not offer a repair program or parts for Pixel Watches, resulting in e-waste when the device is broken. This lack of sustainability is concerning, especially considering Google's commitment to supporting its other hardware products for long periods.
