Glen, an old red boiler engine with an unusual shape like a coffee pot, is discovered by Marahan on Thomas's branch line. Initially mistaken as a talking Christmas tree, Glen is found to be a forgotten engine. Thomas and Percy decide to save Glen from being scrapped by hiding him in an old goods yard. Eventually, they bring the Earl of Sodor to meet Glen, leading to his restoration and a role in the Earl's Christmas party.
