What do you do when you find yourself in a period of waiting? Do you simply sit idly and resign yourself to being on the sidelines, waiting for events to unfold? Or do you choose to take courageous, faith-filled actions and persistently seek change?
There are times when our waiting should resemble less of resignation and inactivity, and more closely align with the parable of the persistent widow (Luke 18). This parable provides us with a model of 'holy impatience,' as the widow fervently pleads with a judge to rectify an unjust situation. Instead of giving up, we are called to take bold, specific, and unwavering actions through persistent prayers.
