Paul Mullen - Social Rugby to the RWC, & Behind the Scenes in MLR
Paul Mullen, is an Irishman but plays tighthead prop for the US Eagles and also the Utah Warriors in Major League Rugby.
This season the Warriors ran Matt Giteau’s LA Giltinis the closest, losing by 4 points in the conference final. We chat about that, and get an insight into life in the Warriors organization. Paul certainly isn’t complaining, but he mentions some of the challenges the Warriors had to face, that the Giltinis didn’t.
We chat about Paul’s journey, growing up on the Aran islands, playing in the Irish pathway to playing social rugby for 7 years, and then ending up going to the World Cup in 2019.
Paul has played with 3 Major League Rugby teams and he speaks about the different levels of professionalism he has experienced between the 3 clubs.
Paul chats about his mindset before playing against the best players in the world and what he finds helps him to perform his best in those games, and we also speak about what life is like in the USA camp and how Covid has affected them.
