The Internet era transformed each of those elements - people became more attracted to cities as our economy became services oriented, companies shifted to the 401k and other retirement products and our usage of cars has transformed with Uber and Lyft.
But while the experience of cars has changed, purchasing cars has largely stayed the same.You go to a dealership, look at all the cars, find one you like, test drive it, haggle over the price and then drive home.
