Residents in the Irish town of Drogheda are livid. The local authority has announced plans to house 500 asylum seekers in a hotel in the town centre. Locals believe it will have a negative impact on tourism and the local economy, affecting not just the town centre of Drogheda but the wider area also. There was no public consultation.
