37: Turning Trauma into Triumph--A Conversation with Sean Hogan
In the face of adversity, we often find strength we never knew we had. Today, we're in for an inspiring conversation with teacher and poet Sean Hogan. A survivor of the 9/11 attack, Sean gives us a unique insight into his journey of recovery and the difficulties we face in the aftermath of trauma.
We delve into how significant it is to share our experiences with a trusted confidant and how the narrative we construct about our traumatic experiences is instrumental in how we deal with them in the future. We also explore the systemic role in supporting individuals post-trauma and the necessity of community care. Our systems are only as good or corrupt as the humans working them, and it’s up to each of us in our own way, to push back against the part of the system we have connection to, using whatever privilege we have.
