33. Embodying Grief with Embodied Grief Guide Grace Harman
Grief is just like any other emotion that needs to be felt and moved through our bodies in order to be fully processed. Traditional talk therapy only gets us so far...and burying our grief doesn't get us anywhere! Grace Harman, an Embodied Grief Guide and Grief Alchemist helps us to see grief as a sacred, cyclical experience and empowers us to let our bodies be the guides of our grieving process. Whether you're grieving the loss of a loved one, a place, a relationship, an identity, or whatever else...you will gain a new perspective on how to move through grief.
We discuss:
- The grief in Grace's personal life and her intuitive grieving process that led her to this work
- Grieving rituals and practices in other cultures around the world
- What other things can we grieve besides the loss of a loved one?
- Why it's important to grieve in community
- Where does grief live in the body? Is it different for each unique individual?
- How can we tell if our body is expressing grief?
- Do males and females experience grief differently in their bodies?
- What if you just feel numb?
- What happens if we DON'T grieve through our bodies?
- How can we better support a friend/loved one who is grieving?
- Grace's group container, Yoni Alchemy
