Helpful Definitions:
- Hamartiology: Doctrine of Sin
- Sin: Rebellion against God.
- Fractures our relationship with God, one another, the created order, and ourselves.
- Total Depravity: We have a sinful nature because of Adam and Eve.
- Exile: Lost access as humanity to the beatific presence with God.
- The experience of pain and suffering that results from the knowledge that there is a home where one belongs, yet for the present one is unable to return there.
- Sin of commission: A sin that we commit, an action.
- Sin of omission: What we have left undone.
- Augustinian:
- Gen 1-2: Able to not sin.
- Gen 3: Not able to not sin.
- Post Christ's life: Able to not sin.
- Future: Not able to sin.
