How Scott Breen, a former environmental lawyer started with packaging and working at Can Manufacturers Institute as vice president of sustainability.

Scott Breen is vice president of sustainability at the Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI). CMI represents U.S. metal can manufacturers and their suppliers. As part of his duties, he promotes the can as a sustainable/circular package, ensures that federal and state legislation and regulations do not harm it, and leads the industry's efforts to improve the industry's high recycling rates. Before joining CMI, Scott worked as an associate manager for the Sustainability and Circular Economy Program at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and attorney-adviser at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
In addition to his work at CMI, is the founder and co-host of the podcast "Sustainability Defined," which discusses many elements of sustainability.
