In this episode, we discuss the CDC’s new super simple recommendations on respiratory viruses, and learn from the CDC that treatment can be prevention. While the CDC never mentions vitamin D in these new guidelines, a new meta-analysis finds that vitamin D supplementation is protective against bad Covid outcomes, especially in people who were previously deficient. We also discuss how podcasts are stepping in for institutions, sparking intellectual connections that the academy used to provide—all of this in the context of genocide and perpetrator studies. Also: strictly mechanistic explanations are standing in for evolutionary ones in many fields—including ophthalmology, dentistry, and psychology—to the detriment of all.
