Networks, Cities and Coronavirus; theoretical physicist Geoffrey West from the Santa Fe Institute

Geoffrey West is a theoretical physicist and is a Distinguished Professor at the Santa Fe Institute.  We talk about scaling and Geoffrey's research on emergence which led us to a fascinating discussion on how the Coronavirus will spread and how to help cities flourish in the mean time.

Geoffrey's primary interests have been in fundamental questions in physics, especially those concerning the elementary particles, their interactions and cosmological implications. He has since applied this knowledge into the fields of complexity; ultimately uncovering fascinating realities about how living things scale and live (including viruses).

This is the 38th interview in the ongoing series of Coronavirus perspectives. I believe that society will have the rules re-written when we come out of this global pandemic and it is important to hear how various individuals and industries are handling themselves amidst the crisis.
