She holds a master’s degree in community and economic development with a concentration in applied social research from Illinois State University, a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Barry University, and speaks Spanish and Portuguese fluently. Her career has encompassed a broad spectrum of professional experiences, including serving three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic, to her work as a nonprofit executive director, city master planner, consultant, coach and Mayor of the city of Lake Worth Beach, Florida.
