Love the podcast? Become a member to support FreshEd! freshedpodcast.com/support/#join -- Today we go inside the pledging event for the Global Partnership for Education, held during this year's UN General Assembly in New York, where donors announced new commitments to finance education. What does it mean to pledge money to the future? And how do those promises reorder things in the present? My guest is Gita Steiner-Khamsi, who was in the room. Gita Steiner-Khamsi is the William Heard Kilpatrick Professor of Comparative Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, and holds the honorary UNESCO Chair of Comparative Education Policy at the Geneva Graduate Institute. Her most recent book is entitled Data for accountability: Global trends in school reform, which is available open access. https://freshedpodcast.com/433-steiner-khamsi/ -- Get in touch!
