015: Family Obligations | Being a family man amidst high responsibilities
In this episode, The Barakah Effect team has a look at the typical day in the life of the contemporary family man, the challenges that we face, examples from the deen in fulfilling this role, and we explore strategies on how to be better in our roles as family men, especially as husbands, fathers, and children to our parents!
So what does it mean to be a family man in light of our deen?
The family is the foundational cornerstone of a successful society, and the family man plays a key role in leading the family unit
Allah mentions in the Quran,
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا قُوْٓا اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَاَهْلِيْكُمْ نَارًا
O you who believe, save yourselves and your families from the fire (Surah At-Tahrim, 6)
When one really reflects on this ayah, we begin to appreciate the weight of the responsibility placed on the person with respect to their responsibilities on their family.
So how do we do so effectively, while balancing the heavy responsibilities of our day-to-day duties in our jobs, and personal Islamic obligations?
