Understanding Under Law vs. Under Grace

Being under law involves treating law-keeping as essential for achieving righteousness that qualifies one for acceptance by God. It means relying on personal obedience to the law in hopes of securing justification. This condition is dangerous for sinners because they can never fully meet the law's requirements, which leads to spiritual death and condemnation. In contrast, being under grace signifies that righteousness is received through faith in Christ, who perfectly fulfilled the law and offers His righteousness as a gift.
