UMASS Lowell’s Director of Hockey Performance Devan McConnell shares with us today how he handles his healthy scratches in this weeks My Thoughts Monday. Working with athletes who are not getting playing time can be a challenge, not just for the coach, but for the athlete who may be in a bad place psychologically when they aren’t playing. Devan shares with us how he breaks down training this group of athletes, both the program, and how he artistically works with the guys giving them some autonomy.
