Tale of a remote Romanian village in World War II
In a remote Romanian village during World War II, Colonel Victor Kruger of the German Army and his men arrive in search of supplies. They encounter a caretaker named Zane, who tends to livestock for the master of the village. Zane reveals that the master is old and demands the villagers as food. Despite the warnings, the Colonel and his men stay in the village and demand a feast. During the night, two soldiers are found brutally killed, and the Colonel suspects the villagers. He confronts the master, Vindral, in a rock church and accuses him of being responsible. Vindral explains that he and his children are infected with a blood disease that requires them to feed on humans. The Colonel's men are killed by the master's children, and the Colonel himself becomes infected.
Desperate struggle for survival
As daylight approaches, the Colonel realizes the danger of being exposed to sunlight as an infected creature. He attempts to escape but is confronted by Vindral and the infected villagers. Vindral plans to let the Colonel suffer the same fate as his children, feeding on innocent victims. The Colonel is overwhelmed by the situation and witnesses the destruction and death wrought by the infected, realizing the horror of his actions.
The master's legacy and a bleak future
Vindral predicts that the Colonel's bleached bones will be left in the snow as a warning to others who may stumble upon his twisted path. As daylight approaches, it becomes clear that the Colonel's fate is sealed, and the master's hungry children will continue to survive by preying on unsuspecting victims who pass through the village.
As World War 2 draws to a close, a squad of bullying Nazis occupy a remote Romanian village populated by old men, women and livestock. But all is not as it appears as a bitter Winter night falls and the Germans find themselves stalked by something far more bloodthirsty than the pursuing Red Army.
