Getting rid of unhealthy habits requires mindful effort. Surprise! Just like developing healthy new habits, when we work on letting go of negative habits, we have to focus on doing so! This requires mindful effort. It takes work! As does most everything we work for in life. Going to work to get money requires effort. Having a healthy relationship requires conscious effort. When working on developing good habits or getting rid of bad ones, asking some soul-searching questions reminds us of the reasons we want to make the changes in our habits… Remember that the choice we make to follow through with a healthy behavior or an unhealthy one… and yes, it is always a choice that we alone make … will determine the quality of your day and the direction of your life! So listen in, learn some questions to ask to help you respond in healthy ways rather than react in an unhealthy ways. Then make a conscious effort to do this each and every day until your healthy behaviors are your way of life! Do the hokey pokey, my friend – and turn YOURself around! So, so corny… I know!
