Republicans had the chance to protect access to to IVF and require insurance companies to cover such fertility procedures. Instead, they chose to strike down the bill despite knowing that voters are watching reproductive issues closely. Ohio Senator and GOP vice presidential candidate JD Vance didn’t even show up for the vote opting to attend a campaign rally in Michigan instead. It’s the second time this year that Republicans have squashed the idea of federally protecting access to IVF. Political analyst and presidential historian John Rothmann joins us today.
