This is an archetypal experience, meaning it is in the realm of the gods.

We can become disappointed when our partners do not live up to those divine projections.
But of course they couldn't, because they are mere mortals, with flaws and mess included.

In this episode I discuss the nervous system pattern of addiction to this state of relationship and map that onto the archetypal realm of love and suffering implied in the human condition.
