Providence is an old-fashioned word that simply means “God that provides for us”. The doctrine of Divine providence asserts that God is in complete control of all things. He is sovereign over the universe as a whole. And many of our founding fathers recognized that God’s providential hand was essential for the founding of this nation. Yet, many today claim that America was not founded on Christian principles.
