Kes Talks KesCon23 Wk 1: James Ewins | Slavery: Theological Reflection & Practical Mandate | Keswick Lecture
Slavery – a theological reflection and practical mandate: James Ewins
James Ewins KC is a barrister, specialising in Family Law. James is a minister of justice. In 2009 he spent 2 years in Bangalore, India, working for International Justice Mission and from 2011 he was involved in the conception, drafting and implementation of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. He continues to practice as a barrister and also sits as a Deputy High Court Judge at the Royal Courts of Justice.
*For clarification: James Ewins has explained that he used the term “non-binary” in the context of this Lecture with the intention that everyone who hears his talk, whether at the Convention or online, feels included in the universal class of those to whom God’s love is extended; if there are any listeners who do not identify as either male or female, they nonetheless should not feel excluded from God’s love.
Keswick Convention is organised by Keswick Ministries. The central vision of Keswick Ministries is to see the people of God refreshed, inspired and equipped to fulfill that calling, directed and guided by God’s Word in the power of his Spirit, for the glory of his Son. So that they Hear God’s Word, Become like God’s Son and Serve God’s mission.
