More than half of all Google searches end without a click.

Millennials and Gen-Z are using TikTok to search instead of a big search engine.

And these trends were happening long before the mass adoption of AI.

Couple that with the extreme popularity of ChatGPT, which has been the fastest company to hit 100 million users in our history, and Google has been brought kicking and screaming into the AI arms race with their new Generative Search product.
