Aviendha has been assigned to Rand, and the tension between the two is palpable. The Jindo Sept of the Tardaad clan, Much of the Shaido clan, and small group of Wise Ones and Wetlanders are traveling from Chaendar to Alcair Dal, a gathering place for Aiel Clan Chiefs. There is evident tension between these groups as well. All parties are well aware that violence very well might break out at any moment. While Lanfear and Asmodean are there in disguise as peddlers from the Wetlands, Lanfear sells Mat his iconic hat, and Asmodean makes his plans with Couladin. Rand suspects the other Wetlanders from the beginning, knowing that agents of the Shadow will follow him wherever he goes. Is he simply paranoid in his madness already, or can he really see their evil intent in their eyes as he claims?
