Welcome back to the Angels & Awakening Podcast. I'm your host and author, Julie Jancius. Friends, this conversation has been living in my heart all summer — and I knew I needed to bring an expert in to help me have it properly.
Today I'm sitting down with my friend Laura Butts, therapist and founder of Greenhouse Psychotherapy, whose specialty is narcissistic abuse and pathological love relationships. This is a powerful one. 🤍
In This Episode
[05:38] Laura introduces herself and Greenhouse Psychotherapy — and where she sees clients
[07:00] Narcissism is a spectrum — where all of us fall on it and what makes it clinical
[09:56] The Narcissist Playbook documentary — and the mid-documentary twist that changes everything
[20:00] What a pathological love relationship actually looks like — and why smart, aware people miss it
[30:00] The spiritual community and narcissistic abuse — why healers and empaths are especially vulnerable
[40:00] Gaslighting in spiritual spaces — "you manifested this", "you're being too sensitive", "just pray it away"
[46:00] What Julie sees in sessions — why narcissists are almost impossible to read energetically
[48:20] The advice that could protect you — what not to give away before a safe pattern is established
[50:40] Highly sensitive people cannot tell each other they're being too sensitive — what we owe each other instead
[52:00] Energy bandwidth, self-honesty and the difference between absorbing and holding space
[53:20] Where to find Laura — and Julie's message to anyone whose life has just flipped upside down
