Today, we have the pleasure of hosting Anthony Ginsberg, CEO of GinsGlobal Index Funds Inc, an asset management firm providing a diverse selection of index-linked products with operations in North America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

In this episode, we discuss the HANS-GINS Tech Megatrend Equal Weight UCITS ETF [ITEK], which Anthony manages. ITEK tracks the Solactive Innovative Technologies Index, an index of leading companies that are driving innovation in sectors from robotics to entertainment. We delve into how the fund captures the megatrends emerging from the Fourth Industrial Revolution, exploring the fund’s composition, its geographical diversification and the rationale behind its equal-weighting approach and strategic avoidance of over-exposure to FAANG stocks. Anthony walks us through the carefully selected megatrends and their sub-themes, highlighting the explosive potential of AI in tech and its impact on various sectors. He also emphasises the growth potential of themes such as genomics, becoming more mainstream after COVID, and online gaming, an industry which has now surpassed Hollywood in size and which, in the future, could potentially converge with cloud computing and social media, as recent deals such as Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision could suggest.
