Learning Challenges in Gaza and Sudan

Gaza's educational infrastructure has been severely compromised, with most schools destroyed or repurposed for humanitarian needs, leaving many children without access to education. Makeshift classrooms exist in tent camps; however, the vast majority of children do not attend these classes, leading to a loss of educational skills. In Sudan, the situation is similarly dire, with schools transformed into displacement camps, affecting millions of children who now lack formal education. Amidst these crises, reports of child exploitation and increased violence signal a worrying future for children who, instead of attending school, are caught in the turmoil of war.
