George Birch, the main suspect in the murder case, detailed his version of events on the night of Nikki Vanderheiden's death. Birch recounted meeting Nikki at a local bar and their subsequent decision to head to her residence, at which point they engaged in intimate activities in the backseat of his car. Birch claimed that he later woke up outside the vehicle to find an armed man near him and Nikki lying injured on the ground.
