Part two discusses segregation within the U.S. Marine Corps before and during the Korean War and the Battle of Chosin Reservoir, which was the first battle between the U.S. military and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army in modern history. Part three deals with the Hungnam Evacuation, the greatest rescue operation ever by a single ship by evacuating more than 100,000 American service members and 14,000 refugees.
