As a professional educator, David Wilson brings a life-long interest in how people learn to both his teaching and practice of movement. He believes that movement is a birthright and that by combining curiosity, playfulness and compassionate self-awareness, anyone can practice movement in ways that will interest them, support them and evolve with them as their lives and bodies change. He is deeply interested in how people might use creativity, critical thinking and the spirit of inquiry as tools of movement, especially as they age.

In this conversation David reflects on his 30 year career is a high school educator.  He discusses his journey through various forms of fitness,  practicing Aikido, and later discovering movement.  He also talks accessibility and the role of movement and fitness professionals to open our eyes to what is possible for all people.  And, he expresses his wish for decolonizing teaching.
