Welcome to To Practice, a practitioner skill-building conversation presented by SACSA. This season is centered around the situation most currently vexing student affairs, hiring. To Practice is hosted by Kate Radford, Director of Leader Education and Development at Clemson University, and Myles Surrett, Associate Vice President at James Madison University. In the kickoff episode for a timely season about hiring, Kate and Myles discuss the new state of hiring for the field. They then talk about one approach on how to think about hiring, how that should not inform morale for the field, and Myles offers a contrarian perspective on saturation in student affairs.
