On one level, nothing has really changed. You should have already been requesting your client sign a buyers’ agreement that says they will pay you if the seller does not. You should have already been showcasing your value and going above-and-beyond for your clients.

On another level, this could be devastating for first-time home buyers who can barely afford the down payment, but can’t afford to pay the buyer commission out of pocket. These buyers are often black. They will likely either be left behind, taken advantage of, or not catered to.
