A U.S. Border Patrol agent was killed in a shootout with armed suspects in Vermont near the Canadian border. The veteran agent, 44-year-old David Maland, a Customs and Border Protection agent, died Monday after a traffic stop on Interstate 91 between Newport and Orleans, Vermont. One suspect was also killed and the immigration status of the suspect is still unknown.
