Zach Sang Show Ella Anderson Talks "Song Sung Blue," Henry Danger, Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson
Ella Anderson has been acting for almost the entirety of her existence on earth. Still just 20 years old, the Michigan born actor and singer started off at Disney and then made the leap to Nickelodeon, playing Piper for five seasons before reprising her role in the movie last year.
But in between the sitcom goodness, Anderson has been making a lot of interesting and challenging choices in film acting with legends such as Woody Harrelson (Sun Coast) and Brie Larson (The Glass Castle), not to mention the forthcoming drama Jesus Land opposite Juliette Lewis. Most recently she played Kate Hudson daughter in Song Sung Blue, a film based on a documentary about a Neil Diamond tribute duo — completed by Hugh Jackman who plays her stepfather. We talk about all this, plus acting with King Princess on the film as her stepsister, the nuance of building a character, particularly one based on a real person, how Disney was like boot camp, her parents morphing from classically trained musicians to Detroit techno scene makers, and so much more.
