4. The Value Of Setbacks: Avoiding The Victim Mentality

Injuries in sport can be challenging for your kids, especially when it slows down progress or gets in the way of reaching personal goals. But what if your child could find the value in setbacks, and use it to make them better athletes and students.

Experiencing setbacks earlier in life can actually help your child deal with future challenges better. Marvin Fidel, former Redfield student in the graduating class of 2014, shares his personal story of disappointment due to injury in sport. Following his injury Marvin discovered his motivation to succeed doubled, and the process of overcoming that hurdle has since helped him in many of life's difficulties.

Now as a teacher teaching sports to secondary students, Marvin hopes his students find patience, motivation and determination in the midst of a challenge.
