In 2008, after studying finance at Stanford University, Chen found himself laid off from his Wall Street job in New York City. It wasn't until his sister asked him for credit card advice that Chen discovered the need for reliable financial information on the web, and NerdWallet was born.
In this conversation, Tim discusses how his setbacks fed his entrepreneurial success, the commitment NerdWallet has to its consumers and his strategies for leading his company through key growth stages.
