Herbert Stein and Ben Wattenberg, Senior Fellows at the American Enterprise Institute, consider the many factors which threaten America’s political stability and economic growth. Stein and Wattenberg agree that while attention has been focused primarily on economic issues, of more pressing concern are the social problems of drug abuse, single-parent families, racism, and the like. Given these challenges, is there any reason to be optimistic that the U.S. will continue to prosper?
