#81 Directors Unplugged - Beyond the Edit with Johnny Hickey

Hey Fandom! Welcome back for another episode of Unplugged.. but this time your hosts Rick and Corrina are doing something a bit different. We sat down with award winning director, actor and producer Johnny Hickey to talk about his life, the challenge and everything in between. Johnny tells us a heart wrenching story about being a kid growing up on the wrong side of the tracks and making the wrong kind of decisions to then turn his life around after a nearly fatal accident in which he was not supposed to walk away from. Hickey turned his mistakes and experiences into his lifelong dream of being an actor, director and producer and decided to share his story with the world. Johnny also talks to us about his longtime friendship with Chris 'CT' Tamburello and David Burns of The Real World and MTV's The Challenge as well as how he became such close friends with the likes of Jordan Wiseley, Josh Martinez and many other Challenge stars. He goes into detail with us about a wild Bachelor Party night during CT's Wedding special, a crazy encounter with Cara Maria that had to be squashed during CT's wedding, his thoughts on CT's newest role as Rainsford in The Most Dangerous Game (and the movie as a whole), who The Challenge GOAT is, if he'd ever consider doing a season with CT, his many upcoming projects with various Challenge favorites and so much more. Johnny Hickey is the epitome of being down the wrong path, experiencing a life altering situation that turned him around and then grabbing ahold of life and taking it for all it has. Being able to have this conversation with Johnny was truly a blessing and we couldn't be more grateful for the time and lessons Johnny gifted to us.
