Episode 201: Adam Badger and Badger Strength
I had an fantastic conversation with Adam Badger that covered everything from the beautiful chaos of daily life to why most fitness advice is probably making you crazy (and not in a good way).
One thing that really struck me during our chat was how much mythology surrounds fitness. We unpacked some of these myths and talked about why cookie-cutter approaches rarely work. The truth is, what works for your gym buddy might be a disaster for you – and that's perfectly normal, not a personal failing.
We spent a good chunk of time discussing why individualized coaching matters so much. Adam shared some insights about managing expectations (because let's be honest, we all think we'll be the exception and get amazing results in 2 weeks), and brought up some points about personal responsibility and consistency.
Throughout our discussion, we kept coming back to the importance of accountability. Not the scary, drill-sergeant kind, but the supportive type that actually helps you achieve your goals without wanting to throw your scale out the window.
It was one of those conversations that reminded me why I love doing this – real talk about real challenges, with a few laughs along the way.
