Car Control Is A Secret For Racing Success - TRDC SHOW S2 E7

Ok drivers it's time to talk about the elephant in the room...the realisation that many drivers are simply scared of their cars.

This epsiode was inspired by this question - “I’m racing Formula cars at a high level yet I’ve never really spent much time on outright car control, is it that important in these cars?”

This is from a driver in the top levels of motorsport but this is very applicable to every level. Far too many drivers lack the confidence and car control needed to really stand out in this sport, today we are going to finally hit this.

Every top top driver has the ability to be fast in the wet, to be fast on first laps, to be fast on street circuits, to be fast in changing conditions, to be fast in a car that isn't perfectly set up, etc. This largely comes down to their car control and how they are comfortable with being on the edge.

You will be surprised at how many drivers do not posses this skill, a skill that most people would think is automatic for a racing driver. Well, think again.
