Every Christian is called to be involved in missions because the command is clear and it is our responsibility as Christ ambassadors to fulfill the Great Commission.
The need for the gospel is overwhelming, with billions of people who have never heard the name of Jesus, and it is our duty to open our eyes to their suffering and bring them the message of hope.
Deep dives
Reason 1: The Command is Clear
Every Christian is called to be involved in missions because the command is clear. In Matthew 28, Jesus gave the Great Commission for believers to go and make disciples of all nations. We are to live a life on mission, not staying in our comfort zone but going where we are commanded. As Christ ambassadors, we have a responsibility to fulfill this command and declare God's glory among the nations.
Reason 2: The Need is Great
The second reason why every Christian should be involved in missions is that the need is great. While there are needs in our local communities, the global need for the gospel is overwhelming. There are billions of people who have never heard the name of Jesus, who are in spiritual, relational, and physical poverty due to the impact of sin. We should open our eyes to the reality of these dark places and the suffering experienced by our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is our duty to bring the gospel to those who have never heard.
Reason 3: The Responsibility is Ours
The responsibility for global evangelization rests upon us as Christians. We have experienced the transformational power of the gospel, and we are called to share it with others. We should not just feel sympathy or sadness for those who have not heard the gospel, but take action. Our responsibility involves intentional prayer for laborers and the harvest, going on short-term missions trips, and giving sacrificially towards missions. By actively fulfilling our responsibility, we can see the Great Commission fulfilled in our lifetime and witness the return of Jesus.
God has called every Christians to fulfill the great commission, which means we’re all called to missions. There are still billions of people around the world and in our own backyard who haven’t heard the message of the gospel. In this message, Pastor Aaron Burke gives us 3 keys reasons why every Christians needs to do missions. Thank you for watching this message from Radiant Church! We pray this moves you closer to Christ and encourages you.
