Kelly Westfall is my mom. She has never done a podcast before and she does not have a website, an online course, or anything to promote. It was her birthday and I thought it would be fun to have her on the podcast to talk about life. If you want to learn more about her struggle with addiction and how it affected our relationship, read this letter I wrote her in 2015.
A few quick things:
- If you have issues with drinking, check out AA and go to a meeting. I've been to a few, and they're always supportive, encouraging, and fun. It might be the best thing you ever do for yourself. I mean that.
- If you're worried about someone with a drinking problem, I encourage you to check out Al-Anon, which is a kind of support group for those affected by loved ones dealing with alcoholism.
- If you need a good book, check out this auto-biography of the dude who founded AA. I read it years ago. It's good. And here is the Big Book my mom referenced in the episode.
